Città is a New Zealand design company that creates purposeful, original and beautiful furniture and homeware for every room in the home. Our homes tell our stories, and through creating objects of lasting affection, we aim to inspire our customers to tell theirs.

Job Description

We're looking for someone who may not even be looking for a job. So if this sounds like someone you know, please pass it on!

You might know someone like this:

A retired cabinet maker who can’t help but feel the grain of every piece of timber.
Their workshop is full of tools, clamps, and leftover timber they just can’t get rid of.
They notice even the smallest imperfections, like a table leg that’s a bit crooked.

We want that person to join us as Furniture Quality Control Coordinator at Città.

What’s the role?

This is all about making sure every piece of Città furniture leaves our warehouse in perfect condition. Inspected, prepared for shipping, and ready to impress. You’ll:

  • QC furniture daily, prioritising earliest orders and coordinating with Despatch

  • Carry out small fixes and improvements on items from our outlet stores.

  • Communicate professionally with internal teams and customers

  • Assist retail stores with practical tasks like hanging mirrors and shelves

  • Maintain accurate records and organise paperwork efficiently

Who would be perfect?

  • Someone with woodworking or cabinetry experience (bonus points for upholstered furniture knowledge).

  • Practical, hands-on, and meticulous.

  • Comfortable with tools, fixing things, and keeping processes organised.

  • Physically fit enough for a role that keeps you on your feet.

  • Excellent communicator who can negotiate, present, and explain things clearly (including calling customers when needed).

Experience

  • 3+ years experience with roles requiting high level of intricate attention to detail

  • Experience in woodworking/cabinetry and practical hand tool knowledge

  • Ideally some experience with upholstered furniture

  • Familiarity with warehousing practices and methods

Requirements
